I think it polarises music and the rare positive is that it harnesses those who want to rebel against it.
However, as someone who watches body language and tries to read what people are saying, I would offer the following views on Simon's views about this years winner, Matt Cardle:
- Simon was extremely dissapointed as Matt is the least likely to sell 'overseas' and so he has just given a £1million contract to someone who has a career probably as long as Shane Ward. Who?????? He just looked flat as the winner was announced.
- Simon showed his lack of interest by not coming on stage at the climax of the show to congratulate the winner and using the word 'consistent' to best describe Matt's performances. That is code for Simon saying that he thinks Matt Cardle is shite.....
- Simon openly offered contracts to One Direction and Rebecca Scouser during the show, which shows his lack of interest in the final winner, and also just how far he will go to devalue his own show, by basically making everyone the winner.
